Been a little bit of a learning experience... and slowly coming together.. Broke a rear brake line, it was fragile and just snapped in my hands...
cleaned the floor....
brake plates going on
buttoned up - oil in trans
other side almost done but -
broke the dang brake line...
New final gear 4.12 no redux - cant wait to test drive it... _________________ 82 Westy ☢, 66 Splitty ☮, 73 Type 181 ✠ |

Looks like that line was due to be replaced anyway. You should replace all of them. |

Fixed my brights finally
Fixed the blue lens too... Cant wait to see it tonight... Cleaned the inside of the speedo too... It was pretty easy to take apart... |
Great job on the bus, I have one question, my generator light (Red) is on the left side and oil (Green) is on the right
do I need to switch them? _________________ SOUTHERN INTEGRITY AIRCOOLERS

no - I have them in backwards... My oil light is red and gen is green... They were both brown when I got the bus, I musta switched 'em when I took the speedo apart.... I have seen the red one blink after a hard run and then idling when its 100 degrees out.. my bad.. It's a jersey thing _________________ 82 Westy ☢, 66 Splitty ☮, 73 Type 181 ✠ |

3.5" Drop... 2.5K at 55 - Love the new gears... Glad I did not go taller... This seems about perfect... Can actually do 55 in third..
Driving the Thing for now...
need to change to a more normal exhaust next:
sits pretty low... _________________ 82 Westy ☢, 66 Splitty ☮, 73 Type 181 ✠ |

trailing arm - drat...
link pin from that arm
impact socket and a 12lb hammer takes these out...
used swing arm as a holder to drive out bushing
bushing installed....
slowly but surely, I now know that king pins and link pins are two different things _________________ 82 Westy ☢, 66 Splitty ☮, 73 Type 181 ✠ |

Now sitting about 4" lower... Taller gears, really starting to feel like a highway machine...
changes made:
2161 engine
4.12 straight axle
flipped spindles
dual master for brakes
third brake light
safari's
snazzy horn button
paint
