here's the day I picked it up from Kris , he would not admit it today, but he did shed a little tear when he saw it leave his shop. The Isuzu Rodeo Mafia had a big roll in the extraction of this bus from the dirty South .... South Jersey that is

By now most people here know the first half of this story, we found a pretty nice bus, off the road for over 4 decades, got it road worthy, and a few months later, it got rear ended on its triumphant drive down to Bulli Brigade, well that's where the second part of the story begins, We'll call it
Coram Rug Works Part Deux
Johnny gets all the credit and then some, his vision and my vision were different in the way that when I said, whatever needs to be replaced let me know, I get it to you, his answer was , no I'll save all this original metal no need for that, and he actually did, not one single piece of the original metal was replaced in all these repairs. Thanks bro |

It's too bad these update photos aren't being uploaded on The Samba gallery... I'm sure they'll just disappear at some point.
That being said, I still can't believe how it went from this mess :

Manny is there any way you can re add the pics of the repair photos to the samba gallery seems like the 'fruit' of this thread is missing. Thanks! _________________ GFK

I've actually been working on that, I've been slowly going through this thread taking notes on what's missing to add it to the gallery, in the next couple of days I'll have them all up back up
I added a bunch of pictures to my gallery, I'll put them here in some chronological order so they make a little more sense, down the road when I find the time to navigate photobucket through their sea of spam and advertisements I will bring the pictures that got lost from when I first found the bus as well.

Hell yeah, I was not on the samba much during that time so I only saw it in pics after you got it back from Johnnie. _________________ GFK

Over the last few days I re-read this entire thread. What a roller coaster ride it was. Nice to see the bus (and you two) complete and happy again. _________________ nothing |

Wow Manny looking great, that chassis looks very labor intensive for your arms. Keep up the good work, amazing.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Nice job! This type of story is what this site is all about. Hope to see the bus down in Clearwater in the not too distant future. |
