I have a 1971 Westfalia camper bus that has recently developed a problem with the slider door. The door doesn't seem to want to latch/close. Any suggestions or ideas involving this problem are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Rooster

Does the back not want to close or is the front latch the one that isn't closing.

Its almost as if the back is holding the front portions from closing if that makes sense
the track is clear and all
it use to close with some motivation and now not at all
ugh

Are you saying the swinging link isn't unlatching when it hits the front of the track? Or is the rear latch putting up a fight when it gets to the rear striker?
How saggy is the door at the rear?

I can't get my slider to close either. The rear latch, handle action and lock all function properly but when I slide the door forward the "swinging links" (I think) at the top where it meets the front of the track won't release and allow the hinge to straighten and the door to close.

You're not going to fix that with "mechanic in a can". My recommendation is to remove the door before it falls off. Then clean and inspect the workings. Replace the bad parts.

Before we start repeating ourselves, I've read the slider door refreshers and looked for any threads that may have addressed this before posting here.

Nylon block is brand new, hence the reason for the tear down in the first place. Please check out the video for clarity.
