...other than a bill of sale or other glove box literature?

I bought a bug once that had license plate frames from common wealth motors but they were way too nice so I was skeptical until the p.o. gave me a stack of photos from early in its life and they were on the car! but what are the chances of that these days? _________________ April 3rd 62 standard mgr/pw

Kind of hard to tell, I think, unless perhaps you can speak to the
original or perhaps 2nd owner. If its a local bus perhaps someone
might recognise it and know.
My bus was a "local" bus in the Seattle area. The original owners
family passed it to the 2nd owner, who I later got it from, along with most of its history.
Be sure to check behind any paneling for old lost reciepts and also look
for any possible oil change reminder stickers, stuck some place,
they might give a clue. Also the port of entry code on the M-code
plate might give a lead. It most likely won't tell you the dealer but it shold help locate the distributer. Perhaps you can ID the dealer in the distributers net work.
good luck. |

Depending on the year, they were typically shipped to the distributor.
Sold from, you need some paperwork or some first hand knowledge from previous owners.
An original plate frame could be an indicator but is not a guarantee.
Dealers like to put their plate frame on there and toss someone else's out. _________________ How to Post Photos
