Better view of the same skyline from Trinity Street at Wall St. Like busdaddy said, mountains give the location. Far less houses back then too.

I’m guessing the Split Beetle Very Happy was a dealer sales tool?

Or maybe a “ Put half down now” financing deal?

On edit...I think it’s a Notch, maybe>

What if you were the front or rear passenger on that side going on freeway traffic.

Wondering if these were Brazilian manufactured or Mexico?
The colors seem very limited, and upper hand corner left of busses there seem to be some typ of wagon? Sedan delivery? VW?
I see some scabs/dokas, and other known varieties.
Cheers Thomas

This appears to have been done a lot, which is not the smartest solution.

Longshoremen knew everything back then, tell them they did it wrong and you'll have a strike on your hands....

VW stopped shipping to the West coast of Canada in 72 because of it, everything moved by train from the East because Vancouver's port was such a clusterf*ck.

That Double Cab in the upper-right... In Primer?

Is this photo a mirror image or are all the Buses RHD or Left-hand cargo doors?
There are no visible cargo doors on the Buses but that Squareback does look LHD

Not mirror image, I see “23” on the big beam, and I can make out the “K” and two of the “L” on a sign on that beam. So LH cargo doors. I’m looking more at the cars for steering wheels

👍 Agree, I can read the sign on the beam and it's not reversed.

Kampnagel docks in Hamburg, I’m sure it was a major shipping port for VWs

Is that single cab in the back/top center a glass delivery setup?

It looks like it to me, or at least similar to modern trucks I see now.
