Need an opinion, our 91 vanagon wont start cold unless you hold the gas peddle down, once its warm it doesnt do it anymore. So I checked the following:
Air flow sensor
Air temp sensor
Both water temp sensors
02 sensor
Vacuum lines
Electrical connectors
Everything checked out, but I was wondering would the throttle valve switch cause this problem? Does anyone know how to check it? _________________ Pacifist with a gun |

One thing you have not check is the idle stabilizer. When temperature is low, it will open more to let more air in. The control unit which is behind the right tail light, take the temp input from the temp 2 sensor. One thing I have observed while fiddling around the controller is, if there is no temp 2 input, the valve will open fully. So what you can try is to remove the stab valve with the electrical plug intact, see that it is closed, unplug the temp 2 sensor plug while the ign switch is on. see if the valve open. _________________ Steve
