Can't tell where that is from the photo, but just as humor, maybe it is the number for the assemblers.....1-goes here, 2-goes there......kind of like painting by numbers.

On Aussie produced cars they put the production number stamped there on a metal plate
here is a picture of aaron's panel square
Here is my car.
316 means RHD 5486 is the production number. I have found and been told they did not start at 0001 but rather started at 1000 for other type 3's besides the panel squares
I would like to get a database of the aussie type 3 body numbers together and compare VIN's and body number build dates since my car is a 65 car but built in 67 (thats why its savanah beige with red interior) _________________ Thornton |
