Im headed to pick this up tonight. All original trans and engine, and the interior is all there but 5/10 for roughness. Parked since the early 90's and used as a house until it was forgotten about. He asked $700 for it, wanted to see if you more knowledgeable people on here would say otherwise?

Picked this up several months ago. Planned on restoring to a driver. Then decided to sell. Now back to restoring. Where does one start?!
Engine in pieces. Needs new wiring, brakes, all the things.

Did any '72's come with bumper overriders? I have a set of 4 for my 72 but probably wont use them if they werent ever factory installed. |

None came from the factory, but any dealer would have been happy to sell you some VWOA official accessory ones and install them. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Athough the overriders are usually hated on here, personally I like how they look. _________________ __________

Hey everyone. I have recently purchased a 1972 bay window. This is my first bay. It was suggested that my bus may have had a nose swap.
Vin# 2222001719
mcode tells me it was built august 23 1971.
anyone have some input on this? |

It did have a nose swap ^^^ look at the front turn signal lights on other 72s in this thread. Your lights should be on the bottom of nose. You have a late 73-79

Heres my patina deluxe 72. It has rear over riders and I’m guessing had front over riders too, but the front bumper and emblem were missing when I “barn find” discovered it. Its the 5th or 6th 72 I’ve owned and by far the best one. 72 is a really great year for a bus.

This is our early bay 1972 when we bought it in 2008.
I have converted it to a Camper. It is actually a barn find. It sat there in the cool storage for 10 years prior to having it acquired.
This is how it looks now!
Of course, my wife took care of the household (err... or camping) chores! The food tasted great!
Our son, relaxing after going around playing outside!

I know this might be changing the subject a little but does anyone know if the bar you hook the accelerator cable to on a Dual Weber carburetors supposed to be slightly angled from side to side? Thanks. _________________ Looking for Groovy Bumper Stickers? Check out my Ads! |
