HA! That's just...awful. Should have clear-coated the inside too, why not preserve that 'patina' while you're at it.

That is a gorgeous bus, not $52k gorgeous though.

I never understand why sellers think buyers want to see their personal pics.

If you want to sell your vehicle make an effort to spend some time taking pictures of the rig cleaned up and de-personalized. Take it somewhere with an uncluttered background and focus just on the bus.
Include the important bits like the engine, condition of the underside, and other special features.
The idea is to let prospective buyers imagine themselves owning/using the vehicle.

And remember you're selling the bus for what it's worth, not what you spent on labor.
(just my 2 cents) Wink

This looks pricey at $3000, but I guess it is a pile of parts with midwestern rusty seams.

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/cto/d/chicago-1983-vw-vanagon/7557779834.html

Not saying $3K is a good price or bad. I'd offer $500~$1000 if and only if I didn't already have a TON of other stuff that is whispering to my in my sleep.

Shows $10000 now.

Oddly, Donut Media has blown not one, not two, but four of those old 2.5L Subaru engines between their two project cars (actually three; after one engine blow-up, they simply replaced the whole car Laughing ). Shocked

I'm not sure if they'd grow on me but there is something to be said for the effort: finding headlights that fit and modifying the grill to suit. It's just not quite right, esp. the angled inner side. The wipers are a nice touch. A for effort, B-/C+ for results. Unfortunately, all those effort points were lost due to the license plate on the dash

Because they have absolutely no interest in actually selling the van? Seller: 'Here's my overpriced van. I'm too lazy to post helpful information but if you're rrrreeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy serious I'll send you stuff I could've posted here. Oh, here are some dumb photos too.' It's surprising they've taken time to repost the ad.

l'm guessing he saw this post, as he's knocked $500 off his original price.
IMHO it's still overpriced.

No idea what to make of this cut up POS, but, apparently there is an '87 in Chicago to do more chopping on, front clip might do somebody some good, I guess..

No idea if $1500 is a good price, I am not a City person, so I 'think different' . Perhaps it has a title? Who knows. I wonder if the parts of the other cars used to cover the missing areas is included in theprice?

Unless I'm getting it mixed up with a previous White Vanagon that was in Craigslist some time ago, it 'looks' like the same Vanagon that had an engine fire and was being parted out months and months ago. I called on 'that' Vanagon as it was an Automatic, the seller finally contacted me that the Auto was already gone. Think
