I have a stock 62' bug and took it into a mechanic to have it worked on. He replaced the front brakes shoes and wheel cylinders. Also changed out the master. The turn signal indicator light ( arrows on the speedo face ) worked before and now doesn't? The turn signals ( F/R ) are working but not the indicator light. Any ideas? |

When you turn the key to "on", do the oil and generator lights come on???
The oil, generator, and turn signal lights all get their power from the same source. If none of them work, it's possible the power wire came loose. It is a short wire that runs from the the fuse block (the fuse at the end on the drivers side of the car) to the prong at the very bottom of the speedo.
The other wire that is used for the turn signal light runs from the flasher to the actual bulb in the speedo.
If it was working before, and your turn signals are actually working, one of these wires has probably come loose. Or it is possible the bulb in the speedo just burned out. _________________ Eric - 1966 camper bus

When I turn the key on, both generator and oil lights come on. You can hear the turn signal relay and all the outside turn signal lights work? Still no indicator light ( arrows ) on the speedo face? |

Well, if the gen/oil lights are working, you definitely have power.
Have you tested the bulb?
Also, trace the wire that connects to that bulb. It should go from the bulb to the flasher. _________________ Eric - 1966 camper bus
