I just installed the Vacuum Switching Module from tencent in my 88 wolfsburg. Easy to install, a noticeable difference from the old TPS. I would recommend this. Doug in Fresno.

Ok, so this must be Tencent's much anticipated replacement for the stock Throttle Position Sensor (TPS.) Any observations? What are the performance differences? People are going to be screaming for pictures, so ante up! Are these now available or are you the tester? Oh and, cuanto $?

It replaces the tps. The computer is sensing the vacuum load instead of the mechanical 2 position switching of the old throttle position sensor. I've got one in as well, and I noticed a bit difference. I'd be curious to compare it to a new tps or one of the tps units that van cafe sells, to see if there are any differences. But compared to an old unit, this thing offers night and day performance improvement. It also seems a bit of a smarter design at least looking down the road, less things to wear out and throw off calibration.
