routing the wire to right headlight

I am wireing the headlights on my 57, The harness that goes from the left side fuse box to the right headlight must be protected in the spare tire well. How does it go across? picture would be helpful. The car was a basket case so I never saw it. Thanks

There's a groove that is supposed to have clips that hold the wire. It runs below the brake fluid reservior shelf. The groove is kind of in a smile.

The groove runs along the backside of the spare tire well.
