My condolences to Morgan's family.

I was looking forward to meeting him in person as he planned to drive out to Long Island and pick up the Ocelot body I was holding for him. Considering how well his last buggy build turned out, I'm sure he had some awesome plans for this buggy body.

RIP Mongo.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Although I never met the man I read a lot of his post because he had a lot of knowledge and was always willing to help.I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing but will keep his family in my prayers at this tough time in their lives.R.I.P. Mongo63

My condolences to his family and his many friends here.

I watched his build on this site (he was about 1 year ahead of my build) and incorporated some of his ideas into my car. A good fabricator and contributor here. Never met or spoke to him, only had exchanges on the forum. The last with me was about his "new" project with the Ocelot only a few days ago. He seemed a smart guy and someone I am sure I would hang out with if we lived in the same area.

I'm sure he will be missed by us, and missed more by those who knew him better.

I received an email from his girlfriend this morning with the news.

I had the distinct pleasure of dealing with Morgan some time ago and getting to know him as I rebuilt a set of DRLA 45's for him. Many knew him better than I yet just the same his untimely death hits home hard for me, just like all the rest.

I want to do something for his family, I'm sure there are others. If there is any need for financial assistance during this tough time, I can donate services to repair some carbs if someone wants to just send the proceeds to his family. I offer this contingent on that need, so if his girlfriend or other family member expresses need or interest in this I'll do it. RIP Morgan, you'll surely be missed.

Morgan was one of a kind, and never a kinder young mad did I meet, My son was a good friend of his they played pool out of the same bar. On Tuesday night before he left he told friends he was worried about his father still having trouble after Viet-nam, for Morgan we all need to pray for his dad and all he left behind, and with Morgan's and god's help we hope to get Laddie thru this. Godspeed good friend and everytime I see a ducati with the front wheel in the air I will think of you. We will be here to watch after Dad and the boy. DK

I was in the same spot just an hour before it happened. The roads were wet from all the rain and I'm sure a bit slick from all the oil and grime laid down. This sucks........

What sad news...

I never had the chance to meet Mongo... but I had follwed several of his threads and considered him talented and good natured. He was always throwing out ideas to people and having a good time... and I have to admit his buggy rig is a class act and I always enjoyed seing him and his son having a good time. Living in Wisconsin, it is always nice seeing neighbors to the south having fun too and had hoped someday our paths might cross... they still may... RIP Mongo my friend.... I'll be saying prayers for the family and especially his son....

Please do keep us posted about teh arrangements etc... we have April snow here in Wissonsin... but I'll still pull the buggy out if I can for Mongo...

Peace be with your family Mongo.... you will be missed.

Cujo

I'm new to this forum, but I've read a lot of Mongo's posts.
He seemed to take pride in & have fun with all of his projects.
Best wishes to his family during this difficult time. VW Logo

I made this before I found this one.
Morgan was very active in both the buggies and performance sections on the site.

Damn. Not a dune buggy/ kit car person, nor did I ever meet Mongo in person. But, in trading ribbings back and forth in the old Rants here and on other sites, I know that Mongo was good people.

What a tragedy. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
