Door latches?

Well I bought some ice pick handles for my 64 (I know I have to weld up the hole) and they will not work because of the inner latches/mechs, they are the slider type from what I have read. My question is, do I have to change the whole door or can I just change the inner latches for the 63 down. I read all the Ice pick topics but couldn't find an answer to this. Embarassed

install 59=63 door mechanism until you figure out your problem. Cool
