also a new handy light I love are these small work/flood lights.
they'll light up a campsite or work area for ~5hrs on a full charge.
at $15/delivered it's really hard to beat.
and without the handle or the base they are compact and handy for under chassis roadside repairs as well. easy to hold or prop up I do keep the small black strap/handle on them for propping up.
my only drawback is that they have a 8.4v proprietary (12v&110v)charger so I color code it to match the light.. not to lose it or mix it up with anything else. it's a workable drawback.

the 20w versions do illuminate a larger area and still have 4~5hrs battery life at $24/shipped another great deal. perfect for working in the shed/basement/attic/anywhere really.

I have not read this entire thread, but but has anyone mentioned the "Luminoodle" yet?
I saw one on another van on a camping trip this last spring, it is extremely cool. Very low draw LEDs, and a waterproof strip, they can be attached almost anywhere with magnets on the outside or inside of the van. Roll it up and it's carrying case and it becomes a lantern.

We've been using one. We have a 10 footer and it works great. We string it around the front edge of the pop top opening and it lights up the whole van. We run it off of one of those cell phone recharger batteries or a power strip with a USB outlet if we have shore power. _________________ 1987 Westy Camper |
