Used generically, Mark III (or Mark II or Mark II etc) means something like Type 1, 2, or 3. Brits used it for rifles often, ie SMLE (Short Magazine Lee Enfield) Mark III Jungle Carbine. The US Navy still uses it for weapons systems.
However, Mark III conversions vans were a large company that was once one of the kings of conversions. They were in Ocala FL. The produced enough vehicles that ambulance chasing attorneys noticed and put them out of business by convincing a jury that fiberglass extended roofs are inherently dangerous and that their clients needed 100s of millions of dollars in compensation. Most conversion van companies were involved in these suits and have gone out of business.
That's a fairly standard Mark III interior and I'll bet the parts interchange with other Mark IIIs. They did fullsize vans, minivans, SUVs and even pickups. _________________ Ohio Valley Tribe, Full Moon Bus Club https://www.facebook.com/groups/294422277314227/

Yup. I lived in Ocala during the 80's. I worked at the Martin Marietta missile factory. That, Mark III and E-One (fire truck plant) were about the only major games in town.
Still, a nice little corner of the world. I miss it.
And I wouldn't be caught dead in one of their Vanagon conversions - then or now. _________________ - 83.5 Westfalia - 2.2 GoWesty "power"

I think the one I posted yesterday is actually The Continental, An Elegant New Pleasure Craft from Viking Industries. Or is that the same thing as a Mark III? _________________ Joe T.

Kinda' hate to admit it, but I like the horizontal stripes on those vans. NOT the interior though. _________________ "Sometimes you have to build a box to think outside of." - Bruce (not Springsteen)

Not the same, according to a Google search. Richard & Doris Julson started Viking Industries in South Dakota. Their factory burned to the ground (along with vans inside) back in '88. Ten years later, they were still fighting the insurance company! _________________ ~Kamz

I'd like to find a straight, well-preserved Syncro tin top and give it a full Continental conversion with all the stripes, velour, wood, and associated accoutrement.
Offroading for the discerning gentleman. _________________ Joe T.
