|
|
I've looked all over the forums, Bentley, and Idiot guide and can't seem to find a reference value for the torque on the pivot bolts for the trailing arms. You know, the bolts which pass through the small end of trailing arm with the bonded rubber bushing and large spacers. This is for a 1969 IRS Beetle.
Any tribal knowledge out there?
Thanks in advance. _________________ Andrew

late bentley sez: "tighten the bolt to 120Nm (87 ft. lbs). lock the bolt by peening it to the shoulder of the bracket. note- to prevent tension in the bonded rubber mounting, tighten the fitted bolt with the diagonal arm extended." _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?

it's not listed in the 66-69 bentley, it is listed in the 70-79 bentley. _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?

Good info. I just came upon the same situation. Torque wrench doesn't fit in this area w/ the adapter for the diagonal arm bolt ????. I just tightened it "very well" . Please elaborate on locking the bolt in place... Thanks _________________ Choptop 73 Super Build Thread
