I was told recently that single cabs were not offered in SWR. Is this correct? If so how rare are they?

The more exact question is, was swr availible for comercial buses and if not was it a special order?

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/colorstype2.php

58-61 commercial buses used SWR, amongst other colors.

That is personal preference. I would guess that SWR is less common, but desirability is open for debate. I like them all, but given the choice, on a truck, I would choose SWR.

Dove Blue is a great color, tho very common on buses. Reds, in general, are my least favorite color for vehicles, but SWR (and Ruby) is great. I'll take my early SC in SWR, please...

It turns out that my DB single is actualy swr from the factory. the repaint is so so but i want it to be original color. its had a few repairs over the years so og is not possible. when it comes time for the repaint again it will get swr for sure. i am very tempted to see how easily the db will come off.

I've heard swr is more rare- but then, I believe red trucks of any brand take more of a beating during their lives than "mellower" colors... Makes sense that more db commercials would survive.

There do seem to be less red than blue trucks.

But is it more made or more survived? Who knows...
