I dont know, I appreciate the guys honesty in saying that. Would need more pics to give a good gauge of value, might be an idea to pop a load of pics on photobucket and ask for sealed bids on it once you have bought/recovered it.

I'll offer $501.. Wink

does anyone out there have the slightest bit of logic? what you gotta do is find out if these people will even sell you the bus, if so, go get it and put it on ebay.

Did you not get the memo from Al gore that when he invented the interweb forum the need for personal human thought was erased.

There's no way to determine value from that small photo.

Is the lower half gone? Is it a shell except for what is seen? And so on...

Buy it, take a zillion photos, and put it on eBay if you are unsure of what sales price you want.

Or buy it and get us more photos to evaluate it.

If you want somewhere to start, a bare shell that doesn't break into pieces from rust while pulling it onto your trailer is worth at least $1000. Parts and condition of the Bus and its parts go up fast from there.

im in ohio and the only free vws are rusty stuper beetles.. chances are the owners have some what of a clue what its worth.. if i were you kc8tpr i wouldve "quitely" done research on barndoors, bought it on the cheap than throw it out there in the classifieds and ask for "best serious offer".. itd be a fresh ride nobodys seen and have no clue what you paid for it, i wouldnt brag about how cheap you get it for either, ppl will basically just pay you a $500 finders fees with the offers theyll be giving you. good luck, another sweet score in ohio!
