This thread is a trip. I just finished reading the whole thing but I remember reading it awhile ago before all the work started on it and then halfway through realized Ive seen this bus in person.

The before and after is simply amazing. I didnt put two and two together until I read the whole thing. WOW.

Judging by some of the comments I'd say they need some!

The people on there consistently post stupid stuff when it comes to VWs.

Funny thing is that most of the Jalopnik comments were positive. I've been reading that site for about 3 years or so and back when I first started visiting, the comments on old Volkswagens were more like 50/50. So perhaps the average non-VW car enthusiast has realized that old VWs are actually valuable and significant. What took them so long?

This is one of those internet forum hero cars that are talked up to death. It won’t sell as I am sure the reserve is so high you could buy 2 Porsche 930′s.

It is probably worth where it is taking away all the BS barn find nonsense. They have there place but also should be priced accordingly.

I am so tired of these almost barn find cars being represented as something they aren’t. A barn find is a car that is left in exactly as it was found condition except clean up and maintenance to get her going. This is again a dolled up rusted bus to look like that.

Is it cool, heck yeah!! Is it worth some coin due to it’s rarity, heck yeah!! Is it worth what the internet groupies have told the owner it is? Let me guess “THAT THING I SO SICK IT HAS TO BE THE WORTH 6 FIGURES”, but I am not a buyer and my Mom is calling me for dinner anyway so I have to go.

2 weeks after it arrives at the new owners house and it settles in what they bough at that price, keep the loaded guns away".

BBT in Belgium have/had it. It was for sale before Christmas...

http://blog.bbt4vw.com/2014/12/04/the-1955-bob-hammond-barndoor-panel-van-walk-through-is-for-sale/

I think I saw a thread on SSVC in the UK that suggested they had secured a sale though.
