Thank you, Panicman!

Oh, man, she loved it. She cried. It was really cool. What's really cool is that she really hadn't seen it throughout the build phase much....other than a text message pic here and there. So yesterday, when the wife and I pulled up and beeped the horn, she was totally surprised. Dad and mom were eating dinner. Dad said she heard the horn and said "Jay's here with the Bug!" She recognized the horn sound immediately. Dad thought she was crazy because he didn't know I had wrapped it up either! Gotta love it.

Thanks again!!

Top work man! well done. I've been reading along from the start and it has been and continues to be fantastic motivation for my own project, so happy you finished it up and it must have been a lot of fun for your Mum after all these years!

Very nicely done, Moto! Your attention to detail really shows. Hope you'll consider showing it at the Fredericksburg show sometime soon. Congrats!

Thanks All!!

What a trip! Can't believe I can just jump in and go. We took it to our first little get-together on Friday night. Not really a car show per se. But they do have it every Friday night near my home. It was cool to see people taking pics. I was a very proud owner at that point.

Finished up a couple little things here the last few weeks. My brake fluid reservoir strap had broken off. I obtained some stainless strap and secured both ends with stainless screws.

I am not using this reservoir but I wanted it in place. So I sealed the outlet and filled it with water I colored with food coloring to look like brake fluid.

When I painted my wheels, I had forgotten about my spare. So, I had some more paint matched and shot the spare. Then had a tire mounted and put the spare in place.

Thank you! Well, we only went once. Need to get back up there. Might go again this Friday. Something to do.
