The tank will go under the floor between the two jack points on the driver's side. Tank will be about 32" x 12" x 4" and give about the same capacity as the westfalia one. Tank will not sit lower than the frame rail.
Mounts will be similar to the propane tank mounts.
Filler can be left in the stock location by the sink and a flexible pipe between the fill fitting and the front of the tank. Outlet (for pump) will be at the front of the tank with an internal hose running to the lowest point at the rear owing to the slightly higher stance of the van in the front. Drain at the rear.
Might use a hand pump instead of the electric one and I might reconfigure the sink as well. Don't know yet. Cabinet rebuilding might not happen until next week. |

Have you considered just having a cabinet maker make a headbanger for you? It would be such a small and fast job it might cost about the same as buying and shipping an old one. You could even look on craigslist for a cheap finish carpenter. And as far as matching the simulated wood grain, some online companies will even send you sample chips. I know, I just saw one. I could find it again if you are interested. And it's only like $8 a roll. Hmmm. Maybe I should just hunt down a good match, buy bulk and sell it in here. lol |
