We finally got around to giving "Wolfie" a much deserved bath yesterday. Once we got into eastern Kansas, heading home, and the landscape really started "greening" up, "Wolfie" did his very best to "catch" Every single insect that crossed his path! What a mess!
"Wolfie" earned himself a couple of little stone chips with pride , gobbled up a couple little "tumbleweeds," ( well, they were weeds and were tumbling across the highway) one going each way, in Neb. and Co..
We were thinking about taking him to the local parade/ cruise night, last night, but it was just too damn hot 'n' humid.
I think Bob may have already posted that he figures we drove just over 2900 miles for the Invasion trip. Since the speedo input shaft broke about three miles into Il. (on the way to Co,) and Jim Adney repaired the speedo at the Invasion. (We put on about 1200 unrecorded miles.) I used Mapquest to get an approximate number, based on our gas stops and such.
We spent $477.90 on gas, for 115.14 gallons (premium), averaging 25.447mpg, near as we can figure.
Bob thinks the speedo may be off a tiny bit, but hasn't gotten it back out on the highway yet, to test it out using the mile markers, or running with someone with a known accurate speedo. Since we don't have GPS, well...
Haven't seen too many other folks Invasion pics yet, but saw several by John J. and a couple by Chad, of "Wolfie" in motion, that I really like.
We haven't addressed the small leak in the windshield seal/glass, lower passenger side, yet.
Only bummer was, because "Wolfie" kept having starter issues, we didn't manage to find the time for Marilyn to actually take him for a drive...
Usually as we approached the Wolfe Estate, hmmm, maybe he was wanting to stay and visit longer...

No not really. I've had our newest addition, Patch the cat, to the vet several times, now forced into being an indoor only cat- since he can't seem to stay healthy otherwise. We had to have the culvert at the end of the drive replaced, right after the Invasion ( to keep the county from doing it and charging us BIG bucks.) So Bob and I have basically just been busy working trying to get the unexpected bills paid down.
He did get some better bumper bits while we were at the Invasion, but hasn't had the time to do anything with them yet. "Wolfie" is just sitting patiently in the shop, awaiting his turn. We still have to see about fixing the minor windshield leak too.
Bob has been talking to Mrs. Russ off and on, as occasionally someone calls her or shows up looking for parts. Seems not everyone knows our beloved Russ is gone. There is at least one VW parts place in town, that sends folks out to the Wolfe Estate, or gives them the phone number, when they're looking for old VW parts.
I think Mark is out there now, trying to go thru/ get rid of more stuff. We'd be there helping if we could, but just can't get away right now.

Aw, sorry to leave you hangin' without your "Wolfie" fix Peter. We've just been busy with other stuff. The warm weather months are usually when Bob gets most of his customer work, which is generally non VW related.
Though, I think next month, Gary, from the Invasion (drove the huge honkin' motor home) is going to be dropping off his Square for Bob to do some body work on. So Bob is still 'playing with' VW toys, and helping to keep them road worthy, whenever he can.
We're doing good though, Thanks for asking guys.  When Bob gets to putting together the better bumper bits and installing them, I'll be sure to keep ya'll in the loop.

Thanks Sue for the update.
I've been so busy with other my cars/bike (T2, T14 and old Kawasaki) that T34 isn't progressing at all.
But one serious problem almost confirmed: It idles nicely but won't move (stutters and stalls when I try) and I found a guy who had similar symptoms in his T3 and the guilty part?
Almost totally clogged fuel pipe, mostly rust dust from fuel tank.
I'm going to check that later this summer and I'm really surprised f it's not that, I cleaned fuel tank an year ago and it was quite rusty inside. So a kind of progress.

It's just a mini update, but hey, in case you're interested....
We've finally had some nice, warm and sunny weather, for more than one day.... that allowed part of the yard to dry up a bit.
So Bob decided to increase our beach front property, errr, I mean, started sandblasting the inside/ backside of "Wolfie's" "new" bumper bits.
I know, I know, pics or it didn't happen, so here ya' go....

The pieces I started sandblasting, were the worst, as far as rust on the back side. They also were re-chromed. From the looks of things (when I blasted them), it looked like they were a little light on the copper coating. That allowed the bumper pieces to rust from the backside. I'm going to see about doing the other pieces today, as I had company stop by yesterday right after I finished those parts.

Evening All,
Seems I've been slacking on my secreterial duties.... Sorry 'bout that.
Our "Spring" weather has been a bit like the Peanuts Charlie Brown character.... 
You know, "wishy washy."
But, last month Bob did manage to find a decent enough day to finish sandblasting "Wolfie's" "new" bumper bits and got them primed and painted,
in between helping our boy work on repairs to his and his wife's daily drivers.

This past Sunday, Bob finally got caught up enough to install "Wolfie's" new to him bumpers, look a Lot nicer than his OG ones.
Again, sorry for the delay, we've been dealing with a sick kitty cat.... and only a month after our son had to have his beloved kitty put to sleep- it's been a rough month....
Any way, yes, yes, pics please!
