Sustained inclines are the real areas where a pyrometer comes into its own, as the combination of boost and load really substantially alters the combustion characteristics of a boosted engine.

The only people i know of who feel a need to use these are diesel folks....

That's been my experience as well. But if I were running a modified boosted gasser, I'd surely want to monitor those variables just out of curiosity.

To each there own. However a stg1 chip is not highly tuned vs a stg3 or 3+, even then an egt is over kill...

Heads up! I soon besides SAH will also have a mounting kit for the 1.8T transverse engine. I will be focusing on the engine carrier system for the DIY. Sounds like a lot of people are eager to tackle this dream.....

Wow, it is good to hear that there is more than one vendor who will be stepping up and supporting the DIY conversion of this platform.
Good luck.

Well I found some snow today in Carmel Valley! Not to far from my home by the ocean.

This syncro drove amazing in the snow,it was the first time I was able drive it in these kind of conditions. By the way the New Burley control arms really make a difference. It handles so wonderful especially in the windyand icy roads of chews ridge.

Ohh there was quite a bit of snow and it was coming down pretty good as you can see on the windshield. Wish there was some other Syncro's around to join in. Very Happy

A bit of a thread revival here. I've read this thread for suspension info. I see you have Burley rear trailing arms and upper CAs but I didn't notice any other suspension details?

Any more teaser info on the DIY mounting kits?

Paul you shoulda seen the snow we encountered in the Sierras on our trip to the snow in the syncro!!!! The last two big storms dropped the most snow they saw in 50 yrs!! While others were turning around me and the fam charged through no prob. There is talk of skiable conditions into May and July! Last wk end we went to Tahoe and they got even more the Sierra Summit/China Peak. it was amazeing! Cool

Suspension consists of OME shocks/struts,syncro.org springs and all of Burleys goodies! The springs are pretty stiff but not bad,the single cab weighs so little.Planing on using some adjustable coilovers in the future so I can dial it in right.

The 1.8T engine carrier kits will be for sale in May.Stay tuned or come on down to Syncrofest this Saturday and check them out.
