I bought a 1835 in a Type 3 case. It has a cheap Empi Dipstick conversion like this. http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3288
It seems cheap and flimsy. The tube doesn't seem to be in the mounting block very well. I'd like to buy something that put together a little better. |

Drill the case and put in a standard dip stick, if you are using the engine as an upright.
Or, rebuild the engine with the right case, and sell me that one. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Russ it's a fresh motor, don't really wanna disassemble it(I'm Lazy). Just thought somebody out there might make something a little nicer. |

Modify a T-3 dip stick tube, and dipstick.
What is this being used in? _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Buggy. It's converted to a Type 1 style. I just see the cheap setup on it causing problems down the road. |

If it helps, I have used one of those conversion kits before.
Or I should say I had an engine with one installed.
I got it used and then put a bunch of miles on it.
Never had a problem with the dipstick....other than the one behind the wheel. |

If it is a late EMPI POS, yes, I would worry. Especially off-road.
Since it is off-road, I would look into modifying a T-3 tube and dipstick. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey
