wow, I am glad to have found you guys!! Hello from Canada's West Coast.

Just purchased a '69 Ghia autostick. While it is kinda fun and will stay autostick for a while, I want to convert to manual eventually.

I suppose that a completely new 1600 dual port and tranny swap is my best option?

How difficult will this be?

I guess i'll keep the original engine and trans for it's historical/original value.

thanks

First thing you need to check is whether or not
you have a clutch cable tube already welded to the inside
of the center tunnel. For 1969 Auto-stick, maybe not.
A tube could be added if needed, but that raises the difficulty
of the conversion a notch or two.

And welcome to the Ghia Forum.

You can always go Hydro. clutch, the motor does not care if it's auto or manual Wink Have fun, the Ghia's are great little cars.
