Later tempo madators came with vented 16'' rims and are 4 1/2 wide , however they were date stamped and stamped with a size. Iam loving the pinstripe!

I´m sorry to disappoint you all but these rims come from a -1952 Ford Taunus sedan, manufactured in Cologne.

Are you sure about that ?? I'd go with sunnybug and OPEL used the wide 5x205 on prewar Olympias. The Ford Taunus has a similar wheel design, but I reckon they have the same pattern as the later Taunus Transit which is 5x160mm. These wheels here are obviously 5x205.

I'd say Opel too... a guy offered me a set of these only a few months ago, they where sandblasted and powdercoated, and not a single stamp on it... we compared them with a 16" split-beetle wheel I had with me, to make sure it where 16's or 15's... 16 it was! ...they looked exactly like these, 'vented', the same hubcap-clips on it, AND he said they had trown away a whole stock of old '40s and '50s OPEL parts (a 20 m³ container of 'scrap-metal' he said!!) ... the previous owner of the house he bought, was an OPEL 'collector' and as the guy that offered me the wheels had 2 old aircooled VW's, he kept these wheels, as he tought they were old beetle ones... but they were NOT... so I'd say OPEL...???
