Hi all,
2000 tiico kit, been running great for years. Now it starts with your foot on the pedal, but will not idle. Revs out fine. I checked the vacuum lines and all appear fine. I replaced the air line from the Air filter through the pancake valve to the valve cover a couple of weeks ago because oil was dripping onto the fuel pressure regulator. Ran great after that for a few weeks. Came out one morning and it had this issue. Any suggestions as to what to check? I suspect a sensor has failed or has a bad connection so the ECU isn't getting what it needs to make it idle fast or slow.... I have an ancient laptop somewhere and could scan the codes, but would have to find it. Anything obvious to check first?

thanks in advance.....

Likely a throttle body issue. If the throttle positioner dies, or the wiring to the TB has a problem then it won't idle (idle is electrically controlled via the positioner motor). The troubleshooting procedure for the TB is in the manual (I can pmail you copies of the manuals if you don't have them). As a stopgap, you can tighten the throttle cable to a point where it hold the throttle open enough to idle. If you have access to VCDS (VagCom) you can try doing the Basic setting and see if the throttle positioner responds.

Thanks. I will inspect and see if the wiring has a fault first. Tomorrow's project. Yes, if you could sent me the manual would be great. Thanks again.
