Hello all, I'm about to become a new 57 single cab owner and have a few questions. I'll post some picks up when i get them.

First off its missing the correct tail lights. Someone added bigger round tail lights like from a trailer. Is the correct set the bubble type or the slightly bigger ones you would see on a, say 58? Also it is missing the correct bumpers. Has mid 60s blades. Are there any reproduction pressed ones out there? What should I expect to pay for the correct lights and bumpers?

It's really solid with little rust that I have seen. Although the bed and gates are covered with wood planks screwed down. Looking up through the treasure chest door and I do not see any holes at all. But not sure about the entire bed. Treasure chest has no holes just surface rust. Wheel wells are cut. Sad Gates are really straight. Looks like the wood did its job there! The nose was tapped and looks bondoed over. Other than that solid! Really excited to get into this as i've always wanted a single cab! Just trying to get some info ahead of time. Any would help!

Thanks! Scott

I believe the tail lights for a '57 were a split year. Early buses had bubble lights, while later ones had flat lights. Post up the VIN number, or partial VIN number so it can be identified. Bubbles are going for serious cash right now. Someone chime in to confirm or disprove this.

You got that for a '95 Toyota P/U!? I wouldn't be able to sleep either - regardless of what that Toy was I think you got a deal.

Yup! My Toyota is in decent shape. 180k miles. Runs great. I am throwing in a grand for him. I think he would have traded me straight across but I felt bad. Like I would be taking advantage of the guy. He's older and we have become friends. I still think im getting a deal. For the value of my truck and the grand Im probably getting it for about $3500.00. And I just found out that he is throwing in another engine thats sitting in his garage that was rebuilt a couple years ago with maybe 10 hours on it! Plus I'm able to drive this home. It supposably runs great. Although I have never drivin it. But he hasn't seen my truck yet either. Except for pictures. It's a weird deal!

What do you guys think it's worth?

Come on Clara, thats a Chip Foose mod! Classic custom all the way LOL!! I noticed that when I first saw the pic's, but didn't want to bring the mood down in the thread and judging by the pic of the rear it can't be flipped. Seems it was cut to fit a beetle exhaust. No bigdeal though, it's a diamond in the ruff Laughing I can't wait to see the pic's when he gets it home!
