|
|
I have a carb where the spring doesn't seem to be strong enough to return the throttle back to its original position. In order to get the throttle to return to a normal position, I had to add a really big spring to pull the throttle back into position. I've taken the carb off and cleaned the spring and checked it pretty well. It's fairly tight, and I don't think I could turn the spring another revolution tighter.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I just need to get a stronger spring for the throttle? Or should I just try to twist one more time? |

I thought it was a gunky cable guide tube, which gave me an excuse to install one of those fancy roller tubes (plus, my original one had a wear point in it). While I had the throttle cable disconnected, I cleaned up the whole area and tested it without the cable on, and it still doesn't fully return.
It's driving me nuts. |

carb bushings.
use a stronger spring and try to lubricate the bushings, it may help, if not, then time for a new carb or at least new bushings |

I don't think so, but I'll check in the morning.
Thanks for all the tips guys. Hopefully I can dump this secondary spring tomorrow! |
