I'm really happy with his condition.
The interior needs a lot of cleaning, but the conditions are good.
There were mousse, and there is a very strong smell !!
And discovered under the bench, it is equipped with a compressor for the cooler
I have the original curtains, that of the cabin too, and even the mosquito net.
By cons I do not have the gas
I beguan washing the carpette, and he's in good condition |

Very good! Love to see it.
I would take everything out of the bus, clean the bus inside then clean everything before going back.
Yes the read bed is big

Ok,
Did some real fiddly shit last couple days. This small detail stuff is a pain. Especially when the after market stuff is close but not right.
Got 99% of the driver door guts in. Just need the inner scraper. What a PITA these are I forgot the joy involved in putting a torn apart door back together.
Got working on these nice aftermarket curtains - see you need to put the snaps on them. The little ones for the curtain to curtain are too small and flimsy. I found spot on OG ones at Michaels.
Now I can get all the cabs in! Yeah.
Link
Compared to OG material, several light changes to see.
Missing a part for the Jail bar.

…Please tell me you saved the inner metal structure of the inner scraper, and you're only using the new rubber? New metal is teh pits.
Thanks 70crew for this reminder! It's saved me and some customers over the last two years!

I thought it was? Didnt Stew swap out the restored one I did? I have his old one here and it works fine. His plug was bad in the old one. _________________

Some shithead must have decided to hook wires up wrong on the coil. Maybe he should drive his bus back and fix it himself as an apology...

Just finished some more install to the interior. Got the headbanger in, long side soffit, and finished the curtains. When putting the headbanger in - I failed to reinstall its pass side mounting brackets. They install under the headliner, under the soffit mounting bar
So off came the rear headliner board. Once that was in I figured the headbanger was a sinch. I think it might have been if I had another set of hands but I didn't and had to get clever on install.
So I went nuts and posted to FB and now here, on a mostly complete, new interior.
Blue Plaid Overload.

A special part of the build where I once again alter a completely pristine surviving part of the bus to fit accessories. I already cut the steel firewall to the motor for the Eberspacher BN4 ducting to enter the cabin of the bus. I now had to finalize the destruction to the base of the Westy seat laminate. An 80mm hole was needed to place the final ducting collar to enter at the foot of the back bench. Just as Carl Frimmer, Certified VW Mechanic of Olympic Motors Inc would have done in 1976. This after Mr. Zimski of Port Angeles brought his Camper in to be fitted with a BN4, since Mrs. Zimski would not camp unless she could get warm when needed.
Now at the twist of a knob, the cabin of the 74 Westfalia can now be warmed quickly to 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit.
I did a test cut first to get the feel of the mighty blade, then just basically went at it based on two other fitted heaters I had pics of.
Balls or stupidity? I had a beer after.
As seen in other "factory fitted" set ups.
Ok lets do it! Practice and application.

I don't think installing that factory heater does any harm to the VW at all. Your clean installation looks like it was done at the factory. If anything to me, it would add value to the bus if you sell it down the road.
Overall, the interior is looking amazing. Well plaid, oops, I mean well played. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Thanks guys.
I agree with the accessory installation. Im going to enjoy them when I can People always complain when you use a NOS accessory, those that complain you cut into a pristine car and even those that say because of all that its not original.
Its cool. They are the same ones that later when scanning the web say how cool that accessory is and how they wish they had one. Thats the funny part with people. My comments on cutting into stuff is purely tongue and cheek. If Im anything its an accessory whore ready for a night out.
Im installing jail bars next. _________________

On my 74 P21 the BN4 was factory installed as were the fresh air fans.
How did the JK sliders go in. Sure wish there was a bug screen option. |

Nice.
I learned a trick with those hole saws on boats. You can stop, splitting by scoring the work surface by running it backwards to start, once you have the line set in a mm or so, reverse and make the cut.
And don’t try to make the hole cut in stages. Yes, I really did this once, in my youth..doh! _________________ .ssS! |
