Hi all.

While moving the O2 to the exhaust manifold, I noticed the O2 plug wires were taped a little tight. Peeled back some tape, discovered the black wire (shown below). I obviously dismissed it during my newb venture into harness carving. Embarassed I don't recall cutting it when pulling the harness, but that was also a first time effort.

I'm not certain I'm reading Bentley correctly. I think the solid line (image below. Red arrow points to it) is the black wire. Looking at this diagram, (bottom, right of centre):

This seems to be the case.

I'm almost 100% sure it should, but should the black wire I've shown connect to the engine block? (ground)

It's interesting to see how the similarity between this O2 shield and the WBX.

Thanks!

Arrow points to what I think must be this black wire

Much thanks xoo00oox

Need to get through emissions testing soon. It's passed before but that wire was bugging me.

Neil.

....

found a moment to do last minute Vanagon things.

For the record, that black wire checks out to ground. Wasn't sure where in the harness it connected to 200: "Ground Connection (Shielding) in engine compartment wiring harness". At that end or elsewhere.

Neil.
