Are the two screws that are mounted on the beam just under the steering box used for limiting how far the wheel can turn? Putting my front end together and not much in the Muir book or the Bently about these screws. Or maybe the wifes right, and I can't see a 4litre jug of milk right in front of my face.
Any info would help.
Thanks

Most cars limit on the spindle. Aircooled VW I do not know, have to look in the light.

You'll notice that the steering arm ("pitman arm") has a tab on the side to contact those screws
