This must be a reissue, as it is 1/25 scale.

what's she offering to the tiny Gorbachev?

sure looks like the 1:24 revell model, see the woodgrain pattern showing through in the cabinets? and still a decal for lower grill.

wheels different though.

Definitely the same ol' Revell kit. From what I've seen, Euro versions of the camper (Joker) had these wheels, along with the Magnum PI van & other variants, while the US camper had the "alloys". Decent price, considering I've seen them go for up to $50 on Ebay. Easy build, but paint detailing it is a bitch, particularly the window rubber and interior moldings, you need a very steady hand.

I snagged a couple cheap a few months ago, I'm going to do a Karmann Gipsy replica using the "Open Road" camper shell re-issue kit... the other one gets turned into a Syncro Westy w/ Subaru drivetrain & 20" Jeep wheels. With all my free time... Rolling Eyes

...and it's either a corndog or a vibrator, not sure at this distance. Razz Looks like the chick from the Matrix before she took the red pill.

It's a UK Vanagon. They're called "T3" there. It looks like an '83-'84

I thought the Brits called them T25's? The original kit was issued in '82...

T25 is the true real name from VW,Type25 for Transporter,Vanagon,Caravelle,Multivan etc....

T3 is because T1 is transporter 1st generation,SPLIT
T2 is because same reason,2nd generation,Bay Window

but VW never called it T3,it's still a T2 on their computer program. Then the Eurovan was officially T4,then came T5 and now T6 Laughing

The missing link was T3 name.

Solid metallic aircooled grills on the rear stopped in 1980 or 1981,if the exhaust pipe was exiting on the left,it's a 1.6L Wink

WRONG. There s no such thing as a T25; the Pommies are illiterate (can't even get their collective singulars right).

T stands for Transporter; TYPE 25.

T1, T2, T3 to T5, all Transporters. It is indeed official VW terminology.

A T 2 is a Bay Window Transporter. A T3 is not a small car, that's a TYPE 3.

No it's a European T3 (left hand drive)... There were only a handful of right hand drive westfalia campers... and they are all Mosaic Jokers (didn't use wesfalia flat roof but were standard curved tin roof) and UK vehicles are right hand drive... and only place in the world they are called T25. Here we go again. Rolling Eyes
Type 1 = Bug
Type 2 = Transporter
Type 3 = Small car
Type 4 = Bigger car.

Type 2 T1 = Splitty (first generation)
Type 2 T2 = Bay (second generation)
Type 2 T3 / Vanagon = (third generation)
Type 2 T4 / Eurovan = (fourth generation)
etc.

T3ZONE is great French Type 2 T3 forum!
