I need some 1.6 TD help. It's a jetta but the watercooled forum is pretty beat and I know some of you guys know the 1.6TD.
Call it coincidence but I just switched the plastic water T on the front of my head over to the earlier metal version as the plastic was cracked and leaking. I had to bump my idle up a bit after to quell a rough idle. But it still is not the same.
I had to switch from the newer two pin connectors over to what appears to be a one wire resistance ground for the coolant sender, and am not sure what to do with the other larger sender that I believe is for the AC. The other little issue is the glow plug light stays for about 30 seconds now or until start regardless of engine temp. Temp gauge works fine in the car. I have the bentley but am still a bit confused. Any ideas? I don't understand how a rough idle could be related although it was fine before this.

Head over to www.vwdiesel.net. You'll get more/better help there and talking about a 1.6TD Jetta on the vanagon forum strikes me as just silly. |

Thanks for the link. Didn't the vanagon diesels have essentially the same engine? _________________ KK4NTP
