X (how ever many people said they drive their VW everyday) Laughing

I hear people ALL the time on this site say how, Its a stupid idea to drive a VW daily, cause they are aold, and not very reliable, yadda yadda yadda. Which in a sense is somewhat true. I sometimes have little things go wrong. Sooo..... Thats why i have 2 VW daily drivers. a 72 super, and a 74 super. and right now the 72 is down with a clogged fuel filter. Bearly made it home today. too damn hot outside today, so i'll drive the 74 tomorrow to work, and change the filter after work Laughing

i used to use those chrome ones, with the replaceable filter. Those things are a POS. they don't filter out anything worth a shit. I pulled the carb apart, and there was all kinds of shit in the bowl, only 1 month after rebuilding it. plus it was clogged up bad.

Nothing beats the cheap $2 from your local auto parts stores part number# F21124 (Puralator)

I'm drivin' my Convertible to work on Friday. Yeah, it will be 107F, it's Arizona !!!

Today, I was off work to fix my '88 Mazda truck; I drove the Convertible to Home Depot, auto store, and Ace Hardware (where else do I ever go?).

I used to be in the fuel filter manufacturing business.
Those little plastic ones suck.
To figure how much it cost the manufacturer to make a filter, divide the retail price by 10. That is how much is cost to make, and make a profit.
In other words, your $.99 plastic one was made by the manufacturer, for $.09 and he made about a 10% profit.
Buy the Hasting GF2 or GF1, or equivalent.

How did they manage to sell twenty some million of these unreliable prone to breakdown at a moments notice non Honda pieces of shit?.Or is it that reliability is in the hands of the owner...and if your car isnt reliable its not the cars fault, its yours.

Those people tow their cars to shows, park around the corner and drive their cars in.
