Good question! Generally and all too often, self medicate. depression is a very serious issue. I struggle with it myself due to the nature of my rotating day/night 12 hour work schedule. Add in two infants, house, old dog, bills...... It never is easy, but, take some reset time however you can. Walk, hike, laugh, love....in no particular order.
If it gets really bad, talk to a therapist. We have an EAP at work (employee assistance program) and it is confidential and free. I have yet to use it but, alas, it is there for me if I need it.
Good luck! _________________ Happiness=Portland, Oregon in the rearview mirror! |

I love to fly, and anytime I was down, I'd go to the airport and take off in my plane. All my concerns and troubles just melted away. Do something that you really love if possible.
Little problem. I owned the plane of my dreams (McCulloch J2) but had to sell it to open a business and keep it running. The business flopped during the recession so now I'm out the money I put into the business and my beloved "Mac."
Have yet to find anything comparable, so now I take anti-depressants. Shit! _________________ More Hot Lighting Products are here!

Depending on your level of depression, I'd say seek professional help. Pick up the phone and talk to someone. If it's just one of them days... Play your get out of the phunk song. Talking with someone who you know, would listen and cares will help. You can call the number below.

I paint.
Some of the best art in the world was created (music, poetry, art) by persons going through tough internal issues. I suppose it gets my mind off a few things.

I'm starting to get little wafts of bus stink coming from the north. Something about the unique scent of drivers seat padding when it's glued together with mouse piss and shit that really gets me going... and I'm smelling it! Oh yeah! Time to start loading up the equipment. |

I know it sounds pithy, but find God. You don't necessarily have to join a Church to do this, but I think there is ultimately little solace to be found in the long run in things material as they do not last. |

Exercise helps with depression. Go for a walk in a nice trail or park. Clears the head too.
If you are depressed for more than a week, I'd consider professional help. Talk to someone.
Don't use alcohol or drugs to self-medicate. You'll mask the issues. _________________ Donate to TheSamba.com

I watch Cops, Lockup, Jail and shows like that. It makes me feel better about myself.
I also watch Keeping up with the Kardasians because I'm an ass man. Good Times! _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

I would agree with this. My friend had ongoing depression issues until she started to go to yoga 4 days a week and walking. She also is drinking lots of water. In a few weeks will you will be a different person.
Many kinds of depression are caused from toxins building up in your body. If you are working your body the way it was designed, it functions much better. We weren't designed to sit around all day. _________________ Feel My Pain l Sage Ad World |

Align your spine.
Seriously though I agree with the Sage.. Also check out some of the newer deep space photo's.. I find learning things helps me thru the day.. Most the things I learned in school have now been proven wrong or expounded upon until they no longer resemble what I thought I knew...
My recovery from losing my leg has been wrought with depression, but like a one legged surfer I am just riding the wave and trying to keep out the damn water...
