You gotta pop the heads off to put those on. Nothing worse than getting the head torqued down and finding them things on the bench afterwards. Its a mistake you will only make one time. I triple check everything now.

Yep ^ and like I said if you just paid a shop or person to build that engine and they did not install them you'd better take it back immediately and show them and get them to commit to fixing their mistake or that engine won't live long.

oye....that sucks.. if your "engine builder" doesn't realize the importance of those deflectors, I'd be a bit nervous... just saying... Wink

You can always remove your rockers and pushrods and then crush and get rid of the stock pushrod tubes, install the deflector plates and then install spring loaded pushrod tubes. At least that is an alternative to breaking down the engine for installation.
