Beautiful work right there. Looks really good.

Let me know when you get a year correct heater system for a 70' restored and ready. I'll drive up to Seattle and let you install it in my bus. Laughing

Thanks guys.

Very gratifying to get it there for sure. Nothing quite like adding a 40 year old accessory to your bus that needs its own mini resto before you can do it. Confused

Well worth it in the end.

Jason, this is the heart and passion of a true gem, this character and touch should be the buses bring $200k at auction, not the Brazilian graphed 23 Window crap.

Well worth it because it now has more equity when I sell it Razz

Just kidding. Laughing

Sambo - I think the bays will get up there in price for sure, not today though Cool

Your bus isn't a hoopty Confused You need battery doors for that to be true Wink

Work + Life makes little time. If anything I need two days to be sane enough to wrench on a VW. So as you know its get sane then back to work. Rince and repeat.

I was able to escape this weekend. Sequim Bay Park. BN4 ran like a champ.

Beautiful venue. Surpassed only by the magical month of rebirth that is April in upstate NY, as Nature does her annual stirring from the slumber of winter of flora, fauna, and air cooled VWs

Where did that big, bright, white orb in the sky come from? I don't remember seeing that when I lived in the PNW in the '90's... Wink

Seriously, when the sun comes out in the Northwest, it's a magical place to be. And it makes the 200 days of rain that occurred prior to that all worthwhile.

Last Saturday driving back from Sequim WA camp out with the Cascade Kombis.

This second vid Im not even pushing it. I could of done 80 up this hill that previous to the rebuild would of put me at 40 to 50 mph chasing in and out of 3rd to 4th. This illustrates the sweet torque and power pushing the bus now. Running a Vintage Speed muffler as well - for noise comparison. I like sounding like a P-38. For now Twisted Evil

Did a drive and a fix.

Went to the Spring meet in Bellevue today with the Kahiko Kula Bruthas.

Bus has been missing since the last tune up. It did it the same prior to the new motor being built so I assumed the rebuild took care of it - loose wire or something. Well today bucked pretty good coming home with the missing. I pulled over and noticed one of the spark wires not seated right. Pushed it in and took off down the road. Well it ran way better but still had a little miss.

So I replaced the plug wires and she runs sweet Cool

Took the day off because my back has been bothering me. After sleeping for 10 hours though, I woke feeling pretty good.

So I puttered around. Got some of these simple additions done to the bus.

Got the parcel trays in and the footman loops for the front table. I had to make some brackets because the VWoA trays are meant for an early bus with a smaller fuse block. These later buses have the fuse block in the way of this sitting high enough. So its sitting about an inch lower than where VWoA intended it. But I bet most wouldn't know if I didn't tell you Wink Laughing

Second was to get those footman loops on. When I cut the leg for my front table I set it a smidge higher so when the set is 180 around its a a better height. So its up about a half inch or less and closer to the passenger by about the same. But I bet most wouldn't know if I didn't tell you Wink Laughing

Here are the $ shots.

Then I drove out to the farm. This bus is driving so sweet at this moment. Everything has truly come together and Im able to ride and enjoy. Cool

Awesome stuff Jason.
Man I'd love to have a front table when camping.

Some small yet very satisfying moments.

Took Stuart's advice and tweaked my sender for the gas. I never got a full tank read so I pulled the sender and did the bending of the tab and bend the float arm a bit. Boom full tank now when its actually full.

Other bit was eradicating the mold stains in the felt of the pop top. Man sure cleaned up nice - but be careful it will bleach the canvas. Can't see from the outside thankfully.
