Lots been going on. Had to move cuz I dissolved a relationship, built a new garage space and filled it. Today I broke it in. The rear right wheel bearing was bad for quite some time. Just been dreading the doing. Rolling Eyes

So I did it yesterday and today. Yesterday pulled it all apart, went to my cousin's house and built his new press so I could do this all with ease. Cleaned the housing up and pressed in the new bearings. Then this morning put it all back together. My ass is still cold.

The bus is soooo much quieter. The outer one was blown and when I took it apart, the castle nut was hand loose. Shocked

Now just need to fix some dash stuff and we are ready for Summer 2018 Cool

Big doings as usual here. Moved, that miserable sting is mostly gone from my memory due to the amazing weather here in San Diego and the love of a good woman. Cool Laughing

I've been having stalling and or falling flat on her face issues ever since the engine rebuild and before. Its been tracked to two issues now - before the build, it would have been the triple relay ground wire. It was loose. After the build, it was once again that little bugger as it came loose during my mass exodus from Seattle through Oregon, not only that I kept getting the falling flat die problem after the wire was regrounded. Stuart gets to talking and finds out its the pointless ignition. He had been suspicious of it since day one when timing my new dizzy.

So I got a tune-up kit to go back to points. Yeah yeah, no one particularly likes the pointless stuff. Should have known better Rolling Eyes Jaja. Cept I ran one on my old 1776 on an Oh9 for years with no issues - and that was when they came out. Remember the early days of Petronix? 50% positive yield or something like that Laughing

Dealing with the stock FI is different. I guess the injector pulse is read off the points opening and closing - mechanically. The lack thereof makes it hard for the FI to read so it shuts off temporarily. So it stumbles while running.

So when Stu gets here Saturday with my trailer, Im thinking a tune-up is in order with new bits. Hopefully, this will cure a pretty rad running bus.

Adventures in San Diego so far.

Bought another bus.

Dude, come on man. Posting pictures of a random attractive lady sitting in your bus at a VW show doesn't count.

So the latest in the cut-out issue I've had with this bus since I bought it. Stuart recently had a similar issue on his Vanagon. He tracked it down to the head temp sensor. We drove my bus the other day, had the cut-out issue, he grounded the switch lead skipping the sensor and I hadn't had a problem since.

Since then I have installed a new sensor from Bus Depot. Fingers crossed. Rolling Eyes

Pretty hurtful Stuart. Laughing
