I have seen this issue before on here - mine isn't dead just yet, but the clevis was actually binding a bit in the oval.
Long story short, I've read most of the replacements of these are absolute garbage.
Where can I get a good one, new or used? I checked the classifieds but there's nothing. _________________ 1977 VW Type 2 Bay Window Westy FI |

Yes the new ones are softer than original, but I usually get years out of them by cleaning and greasing things well before installation. I'm on my third clutch cable/clevis in 200k of driving, nothing special just FLAPS parts.
Any one part of the mechanism that's too hard will eat through the softer components. Better to have everything soft and wear down evenly in time.
