Hi everyone. Does anyone know if the DA6 and BA6 share the same internals, as in the combustion chamber? I just purchased a used unit that is missing the ID tag, however he glow plug is clearly a BA6 gasoline type. Curious if I can transfer parts between the two or if they're different. Thanks! |

Send a email to Butler Technik or Heatso over in the UK. _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.
There are seven days in a week. Someday is not one of them. |

I have a complete DA6 available here if you need a parts comparison. Post pics of the items in question. _________________ Casey--

Thanks however It's going to be difficult to do so for a couple days. The part I'm questioning is the internal furnace chamber. They look very similar, but I need time to put mine side by side with the one from my van. It's packed in storage. |

Are you trying to restore yours? The PO mentioned he could not start the van after running his da6 so we’ve never used it. I’m wondering if I can take the guts out and use the airways for a modern webasto. _________________ 1982 Diesel Westfalia 1.6 NA - The Shellakabuukiee |

Yes, trying to restore mine. The outer casing rotted from a mouse nest. I just purchased one in the classifieds here...but it's a gas unit even though it was advertised as a diesel unit. I'm trying to find out if the guts are the same before I send this one back. |

And you probably could take the unit out and use the ducting for a modern unit. I don't recall seeing that done, but it seems like somewhere on this site everybody's tried everything! |
