Hi All

Any one knows the holes at the front windscreen edges for what? I don't feel it aftermarket, I feel it original but I can't find its purpose
I marked them with a red arrow

This car for sale but a lot of changed happen to it, the front doors without side windows is that means it should be 51 or earlier?

Ashraf

Hello there,
It seems to me that they are not original.
I think they are made for later ( younger )sunvisors from a beetle or other make.
The rubbers for the window in the doors on the windshieldframe are not correct also.
Can you provide more info on the car? maybe some picts.
Peter.

I agree with Peter, late model sunvisors installed. along with allot of other late model items, hood, door opening mechs. speedo, hood, tach, steering column, windshield wipers. looks like someone wanted a newer bug.

Yes Actually most people in Egypt thinking that the newer version worth more, and very few owners looking for the original state, unfortunately I'm one of them as I feel very upset when I see these modifications I feel like they destroy the cars by doing this...............
Any way how much should I pay for such a car? with all of these required to be changed parts to get back to original beetle for its age?
I will post other pictures in few mins

whatever it takes, just get it! Shocked

you will find the needed parts for resto, even though not too easy or cheap. is the pan original to the body? engine?

i'd get it in a heartbeat!

I think it would be worth about 15,000 US Max and that is a stretch. Every bolt on part is missing or messed with, no way to tell how bad the body is without better pictures.

Are you sure someone did'nt just graft an early dash into a later car?? The wheels are 4-lug. What are the chances it is still on a split pan? If that car used to be a split window convertable then someone needs to save it. Shocked

I was thinking the same thing. If it is or was a split, that dash may be all that remains from the era. To me it is worth about $7250. That's $7000 for a fatty convertible in decent shape and $250 for a split dash give or take.

Means nothing. Every external bolt on panel is from a later car except the doors. Even those have 68+ handles on the outside and a late mirror.

I recently met a local VW enthusiast who's originally from Egypt. He said all the VW people think 70s cars are the ultimate. All the early cars get updated.

The dash is the only thing on the car that looks like a split. If it really is a split it would take a lot to get it back to original.
