I am about to take on another build and found what I believe to be an early 70's tuff tubb body. It's a 4 seater so cutting the tunnel and shortening won't be needed. Is it true from what other bug guys are telling me that a super beetle won't accept a fiberglass body because of the coilover/struts? I haven't been able to find a standard beetle but the supers are quite plentiful.
Really need to know the truth before I go any further..thanks for any feedback people!

You will need the standard beetle. The people you talked to are correct on the struts.

A friend has a super beetle pan under his glass buggy, just swap out the frame head and install a standard beam.
