68 rear popouts: is there anything that holds the alum channel {that is on the glass} to the "hinge post"? Mine has the rubber seal that goes from top to bottom, When I removed the popouts there was a caramel colored plastic like powder in the post channel. There is a groove in the aluminum window edge, 3 slots in the rubber seal and the threaded portion of a screw in these slots, pointing to the rear of the car. Were there some kind of clips in there?

The powder is what remains of the quarter window hinges.
They are plastic/nylon, 3 per side.
