i'm now thinking of a solar shower for lucy.
this i like..
i converted vans into campers with my father, years ago
we did similar, but we pumped cold water into one end, that pushes the hot water out of the other, so you could feel the water cooling off before running out of water, also using cold to push out the hot, you don't have to "remember" to refill it with water, so you don't have a "doh !!!" moment |
Made my own real similar but with 8"x60" pvc (about 13 gal) attached to my roof rack on my old truck. Pressurized it with the bicycle pump to rinse or just free flow to get wet. Worked great with an old gf taking military showers but could easily take 2 full showers each with some to spare took awhile to fill up from the camp ground without a hose (water spigots usually). and it did weigh about 110 lbs full so make sure what ever you attach it to is stout enough!
I've also read people saying solar showers ain't warm enough... It is warm enough in Mammoth, Ca during February. Just make sure it's in the sun, it is a solar shower after all _________________ Stupid people do stupid things. |

It never rains in California--I know that.( can't figure out mud slides with no rain)
But if your in the pacific NW you can take all kinds of Mother Nature showers whenever you want--
Be creative.
Truck stops showers are a better deal--if you don't want to get butt naked out in the wide open spaces.
Look at the money folks could save-it's the way of Vanagonland isn't it?

Its 48 and DUMPING rain as I type this parked on a gravel pull out near the Oregon coast. Getting out of the warm van naked with a bar of soap and letting the soft water gently rinse my near ape like body as I think of T.K. is the last thing on todays check list. Its just below a usb toaster. |

Hmmm, butt naked out in the wide open spaces v. butt naked in a truck stop. Wide open spaces wins every time. Hehe. _________________ - Jim

Picked up a ZODI..Well, needs batteries...needs a tub of water...takes a little setup...but, it's a welcome addition. I plan to use the rear-most cabinet to design a self-contained hot shower, draw water from the water tank to make it a real convenience. When setup with a scenic view...it's pretty nice.
The ADD-A-ROOM should be called MISQUITO MANOR...one thing at a time. |

I'm actually shocked that you know the size of your Speedo. I mean, even us Europeans don't keep this kind of info in the front of our thoughts. _________________ 1991 Westy auto w/ Peloquin TBD

He knows his size because he buys panties by the 6 pack and throws them away one per day. You probably missed the post where he shares that.
So yeah, chances of getting Newfisher into a shower, with TK, or anyone else are, well, slimmer than a size 48.
When he's not busy skipping showers, he stacks a mean Kabob too.. LOL!

Hehehe wow this shower thread has gone a stray for sure... No manties or speedos please I can barely handle those wearing kilts Summer is coming so showers in the wild become a reality. I'm sticking with the 5 gallon shower bottle method. Nice little grill you have there Newfisher. _________________ VW

You do realize that there are lasses here too, yes? Ones who camp in the dry southwest desert region where a natural shower -- one good enough to wash long, thick hair -- comes but a few times a year. Truck stop? Oh, hell no. I'd much rather use baby wipes, a lake, or the Zodi... _________________ ~Kamz
