After reading these explanations does anybody have a picture of how the Flaps should be adjusted for maximum cooling. Ive searched the Bentley official service manuals but to no avail.
My fan shroud came incomplete and the spring missing for the flaps.Ive got the spring mounted but how many turns or tension should be on the fail safe spring Thx for your help |

During warm up the right flap is as closed as it will get.... nearly vertical. The left flap will be just slightly higher than horizontal. Roughly at the two oflock powition looking from the right side.
When fully open, the left flap will be down covering the oil cooler opening (the oil cooler gets its air from the back bottom side of the flap with a scoop inside the air manifold.). The right flqp will be as filly open as possible...horizontal. ...only kept from being fully horizontal by the small rubber bump stop in the flap.
I believe the spring on the right side gets one full revolution before being hooked under the step on the air manifold. It will take me a day to check that on mine. Ray |

Found theese pictures of the max cooling position, thats when the little lever where the wire is attached is pointing straight upwards.

then, the left flap must come down and join 100% to the oil cooler seat tin? |
