The last time I saw a 61 interior with bits having that color, I took a photo, which you might have seen as I've posted it TheSamba before here. Digging it up, I'd say your brake handle looks pretty good to the steering column/steering wheel/shifter image that I have. However, as you said, my image was a combination of ambient lighting and flash so that might be suspect.

I do not know how to fix this. All I can say is it all works fine for me with what I use, Firefox.

Nice, it looks pretty dang close. The paint I used was ACE Hardware Khakis. I love the sandstone painted bits. I even got a nice set of OG sandstone door cards.

Take your glove box door etc to your local Paint Supplies & they can color match it in spray cans.

Our '78 Westy Deluxe was originally cream. Someone, to the best I can tell, painted it Senegal Red. So in my attempt to get the inside to match the outside. I found Rustoleum Regal Red is 99% an exact match. So either the Rustoleum Regal Red is a great match for Senegal Red, or they painted the whole thing with Rustoleum.

Bought a can of Krylon "Emerald Green", gonna see how close it matches the L60-D "Elm Green".
It looked close on the can, maybe close enough for interior that no one will see..
hehehehe
Will report back..

Thanks for posting an update anyway.
I saw your post and wondering if it would match.

I guess in general, but I’d be interested if there is a spray can match. I’ve heard both dark gray and black.
Thanks

I had some time so I dug through the threads and links above.

This thread
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49163
says Krylon Smoke Gray Gloss, 1608

Original is a blue-grey color in person.

This guy has a correctly restored '58 15-Window so I trust this color as being accurate:

I'm pretty sure he used real paint though.

My '63 tank for another color reference, it looks to have more blue here:

Hi all,

Any Krylon/Rustoleum matches for Cadmium red? I’m thinking of doing a set of two-tone wheels for my 64

Nick

This just bit me in the ass as well. The old Krylon gloss dover white was a spot on match to my pearl white bus, but the newer cans are more beige and not even close. I tried rustoleum dover white but its also the same beige as new krylon dover white. I called Krylon. they offered a refund but I was only interested in finding a close match. They said the formula hadn't changed.

I reached out to them via their customer email and got this:

“I viewed the pictures and while the colors are the same, the products are not the exact same formula. The COLORmaxx is the product we offer now and the Indoor/Outdoor product has since been discontinued.”

They changed the formula but call it the same color. Nice.

I'd be very careful before committing to this color choice until you verify whether you're getting beige or white.

UPDATE: Krylon sent me 6 cans of the "new" Dover White, which should be called Dover Beige. It was "free" of course, so...

Has anyone found another color that is close to the OG Silver White?

Crap, good to know. I bought a case of Dover White Krylon also but many years ago. I don't know if they even work any longer. I'll report back this summer or sooner. I suppose WW is one way to go or your local auto paint shop for a spray can match.

ZOZO your new batch looks more like WW Silver Beige,

Yikes WW is up to $21.94 a can now.

My poptop done in Krylon Dover White many years ago. I am hoping the wheels can match with my other old cans Krylon. BTW when I got my case of Krylon I tried to paint on a primer grey surface and it bubbled up. I will paint my wheels without primer as the label states paint & primer.

I posted the Dover White match pic in the split bus forums, tried some last year and it was NOT a match.

Same results, Dover White is like Dover off white now

Hey Folks, I did some searching around and I'm not finding much on trying to match the 1973 Thing Blizzard White in a Krylon or Dupli color match.

I didn't really need to get a paint shop batch made but that may be my only option.

One of this post's photos shows a "Dover White" was kinda close.

Was wanting to do some touchup in the engine bay area and I don't have enough touch up paint to do that large of an area.

Just thought i'd ask the group before I venture off....

Thanks for any suggestions!
