Hi all, does anyone have a source for early bus door regulator springs? Can they be sourced from beetle regulators? If not, anyone with spring fab skills willing to make a batch (jon???hint hint ).

Im guessing he's talking the coily spring under the inside door handles or else the one that returns the front door lever to center? |

Both of those are repro'd and readily available, so why would someone have to "fab" something? |

Who has the return-to-center one? How do you get it in? |

you can't just stick the spring in, the entire thing needs to be disassembled to replace it. buy a repro, they are good quality. or buy my good used original one (shameless plug) http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=989786 _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?

If there's a budget job I'll put the right one on the left and vice versa. Some people like how it stays locked that way, too. |

Has anyone replaced the door regulator spring in this thread.
Jon mentioned the entire mech has to be dissembled to replace it; curious if anyone has taken this project on? _________________ WANTED:
