Cheers

Im guessing he's talking the coily spring under the inside door handles or else the one that returns the front door lever to center?

Both of those are repro'd and readily available, so why would someone have to "fab" something?

Who has the return-to-center one? How do you get it in?

New remotes are available from WW for $18 but not the spring by itself. The only original remote I've ever seen with a good spring was NOS. Crying or Very sad

you can't just stick the spring in, the entire thing needs to be disassembled to replace it. buy a repro, they are good quality. or buy my good used original one (shameless plug) http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=989786

If there's a budget job I'll put the right one on the left and vice versa. Some people like how it stays locked that way, too.

Has anyone replaced the door regulator spring in this thread.

Jon mentioned the entire mech has to be dissembled to replace it; curious if anyone has taken this project on?
