|
|
I have a 89 Vanagon and recently pieced together and installed a new exhaust system. Much to my chagrin the new exhaust had a leaky noise to it. Today I noticed I am missing a cap on an exhaust tube. After consulting my manual, I found it is called a CO Test Point Cap. I have been searching for info and a place to purchase one. All help is greatly appreciated : ) |

I think it is a pretty standard thing. Try the local muffler shop. |

i agree - exhaust systems are extremely simple, but most people make them sound like a very complicated thing....
shouldnt cost you a whole lot if you talk the guy at the exhaust shop down. i built a turbo back exhaust system for my Cummins Turbo for $40, where some guys are buying systems for nearly $800+
4" turbo back and it sounds like a bulldozer.... _________________ I do Subaru conversions - Front End work - Mechanical systems repair - PM for Details |

So after searching high and low I called the local VW Dealership and suprisingly they could still order them! For reference the size is 14mm x 1.5 pitch. Thanks for the prompt responses! |

got mine at van cafe, santa cruz, CA give them a check out, they have a lot of van stuff on their website, good company, they had the caps in stock. dont forget the copper sealing gasket under teh cap, and be sure to use ample amounts of antisieze lube on the threads, else they tend to rust in place rather quickly and become un-usable |
